Taking “Wernlis’ refined” biscuits for a ride
Wernli AG is a family-run company in Trimbach bei Olten, Switzerland, which offers a comprehensive range of biscuits. It is not by chance that Wernli is the best known and most widely sold brand of biscuits in Switzerland, as delicious biscuits have been produced in Trimbach bei Olten for some 100 years.
Production flexibility “In June 2002, we started development of a new product,” explains Hanspeter Wernli, Technical Director at Wernli AG. “Our ‘Petit Flirt’ should be lighter than any other biscuit, thus further strengthening our market leading position.”
As part of this major investment project, Transver was entrusted with the task of product distribution between the refrigerated conveyor belts and the packaging process. The primary objective of the project was to increase production flexibility.
Continuous flow of information The main requirements for the supply system were:
- compact, modular system construction
- high degree of flexibility and simple, rapid conversion
- maximum hygiene and user-friendliness
- safe and gentle product handling
- tried and tested technology and production security
According to Hanspeter Wernli, “Also worth highlighting is the exchange of information which was maintained at all times. With the technically competent manner in which they approached the project and fulfilled the contract on time, Transver proved to us that we had selected the right partner.”
Supply system specialist Over the 35 years it has been active in the field of conveyor belt technology, Transver has developed from a manufacturer of simple conveyor systems into a specialist in packaging machinery supply systems. In coming to grips with complex tasks in the separation and handling of chocolate and biscuit products, a considerable amount of expertise has been built up. The range of technology available extends from tried and tested, curved continuous conveyors and compact product distribution systems, through to complete conveyor systems.
